About Us

Fiveash Data Management, Inc. (FDM) is a global expert provider of FTIR and Raman spectral libraries, software, and tools for materials analysis. Our libraries are trusted by leading companies, universities, and national laboratories for applications ranging from polymer and drug analysis to industrial failure investigations and art conservation science. Unlike instrument manufacturers, who offer libraries mainly as add-ons, FDM specializes in comprehensive, cross-platform spectral databases designed for accuracy, speed, and compatibility with all major FTIR and Raman systems.

We publish FTIR, ATR/FTIR and Raman spectral libraries and the FDM SearchFaster™ software. We publish dozens of conventional spectral libraries, such as the FDM ATR Polymers Diamond, library bundles, such as the FDM ALL ATR Bundle, and libraries that rapidly model bulk mixtures such as the FDM ATR Plastics Kit (models blended polymer resins, resins + inorganic fillers, resins + plasticizers, and resins + polymer additives).  With our tools, both novice and skilled customers can very quickly and easily gain a better understanding of both pure and multicomponent samples.

We have recently expanded to offering library bundles with ATR accessories, FTIR gas cells, including a TGA FTIR cell, and a GC-FTIR accessory.

We serve customers in fields such as industrial failure analysis, forensic trace evidence and drug analysis, and art conservation, to name a few. More generally, our customers work in analytical chemistry and material science laboratories in industry, government and academia.

Mission

We serve the global scientific community with high quality mid-infrared and Raman spectral libraries, innovative algorithms and reliable software.

Vision

With the global FTIR and FTNIR market is valued at about $1.6b annually,  we aim to drive substantial growth by improving the quality of FTIR libraries and the performance of FTIR spectrometers, and expanding  the range of applications.

We are advancing mid-infrared reflectance spectroscopy with original research in the measurement of n+k spectra (optical constant spectra, or the complex refractive index function).  We see this as the path to substantially improving the performance and range of applications of modern infrared spectroscopy.
