TGA FTIR Kit
The TGA FTIR Kit is a combination of the PIKE TGA cell (a heated cell with a heated gas transfer linel), the FDM HiRes VPFTIR for Search library (430 spectra), the FDM HiRes VPFTIR Mixtures library (more than 850,000 spectra), and the FDM SearchFaster™ software.
The combination of the cell, mixture library and software means you can identify binary mixtures almost instantly.
FDM SearchFaster™ is extremely well optimized for the challenging combinatorial problem of mixture analysis. Instead of deconvolving your experimental spectra, which is difficult and time consuming, the mixture library has preconvolved combinations so searching is effectively the deconvolution you need. It's delivered to you in a format you already understand, a simple FTIR library search hit list. In this way you can readily identify mixture components with a full spectral range and then with narrower ranges if needed. FDM SearchFaster™ get's its speed from top notch software engineering without taking shortcuts. It searches all of the points in a given spectral range to capture the essential nature of complex peakshapes. FDM SearchFaster™ does not use peak search algorithms, which ignore peak shapes.
GC FTIR spectra can have multiple components but the number of components is generally constrained to just a few. Of course, the number of mixture components is a function of the sample and GC separation parameters such as temperature, gas flow rate, an so on. This means the components of in GC FTIR spectra are likely to be easily matched by the FDM SearchFaster software.
