What is an FTIR library?  It's a compilation of spectra  (a database)  frequently used for chemical identification because interpreting infrared spectra is difficult and time consuming while searching is fast and easy.  User's can easily obtain useful results that can identify or characterize a sample.  Accordingly, FTIR spectrometers are one of the workhorses of analytical chemistry and material science laboratories world wide.
